Daily Commentary

Today's update - expect a move to the upside in the markets.

So options will be better suited to quick moving day trade plays. Looking for stocks with break out moves to up or down side.

Normal summer volume has not occurred.

NOTE: To all traders positions are to have 15 to 20 % mental stop loss.

Portfolio Description

See below for a list of our current positions. The list is divided into short-term, mid-term, and long-term positions. With commentary and range of difficulty.

Money management is an essential element of trading options. With each trade we have set Option plays in place based on unfolding stock patterns. Though we try our best to correlate the developing stock pattern with the option trade, many times the stock can move in the opposite direction leaving us holding a loss.

Don't be discouraged by this, as this is to be expected as we struggle between taking profits and setting stop losses.

The most difficult one is the STOP LOSS, as a rule I set a mental stop at 15 to 20% on option price. If stock moves back in our original direction I will re-enter trade if pattern remains the same. At VerticalOptions.com, we strive to correlate the OPTION with the stock PATTERN. Though this can result in losses on certain trades, overall we make up the losses and more on our wins.
